who we are... what we do...
Friends of Infant Toddler Services of Johnson County is a non-profit organization made up of parents, therapists, staff, and community volunteers. This important organization is dedicated to supporting Infant Toddler Services of Johnson County in their effort to foster and coordinate the delivery of quality service for the fantastic children of Johnson County. Over the years, this support has manifested in several ways financially, through programming, equipment, technology, and training. The Friends’ Board meets monthly.
Friends sponsors the Annual Stepping Stones Gala in Spring of each year. This fundraiser is an exciting evening which showcases a silent and live auction as well as a dinner and the opportunity to network with other parents and therapists. We are proud to point out that the Playful Potentials program, which is a durable equipment lending and exchange program, was created out of monies raised during this event. At the 2010 Gala, a Special Assistance Fund was established to assist families in purchasing equipment not covered by insurance.
There are many ways to get involved and help with Friends of Infant Toddler Services of Johnson County. We can always use help gathering auction items, securing sponsorships, working events, and preparing mailings. There is something for everyone. The first Annual Golf Tournament to benefit ITSJC will be held on August 13, 2010. This exciting event will be held at the Deer Creek Golf Course, with at shot gun start at 1:00pm. A quarterly newsletter is distributed to all of our FRIENDS, including past and current families, providers, sponsors, and donors. In an effort to go green, as well as a way to cut costs, our newsletters will be distributed via email. Be on the look out for our final mailed newsletter.
